Michel Parmigiani founded the watch company in the town of Fleurier. For nearly two decades, Parmigiani has been pursuing recognition as a premier watch company. Since the beginning of the third millennium Parmigiani Fleurier has been manufacturing their own movements.
The Sandoz Family Foundation first entrusted Michel Parmigiani with their collection of pocket watches and automatons in the watchmaking museum in Le Locle. Because the curator, Effrne Jobin, was aging, he was unable to undertake all of the restoration, so he brought Parmigiani into the picture
These photos help tell their story, demonstrating the complexities of the work that goes into watchmaking.
One well known name that Parmigiani has been associated with is that of Bugatti. The Parmigiani Fleurier Bugatti Super Sport commemorates the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, the worlds fastest production vehicle. The watch is shaped and angled in such a way that enables the wearer to read it while holding on to the steering wheel.
