S.T. Dupont Luxury Leather Goods
Simon Tissot Dupont, the son of a miller, dreamed of being a successful Parisian. After working hard to launch his own carriage business and having it fail due to a fire, Dupont decided to go into leather goods, hiring a team of craftsmen. Dupont began making leather briefcases in 1872, and by 1884 he was supplying leather goods to Les Grands Magasins du Louvre, a store of massive size and fame.
In 1947, Andre Tissot Dupont spent months scrutinizing the details of the travel case that the French President Vincent Auriol had given as a wedding gift to Princess Elisabeth II. It's rumored that after months of work, Andres uttered, Weve finally finished the Princess travel case, as his last words before passing away.
Now, 140 years later, S.T. Dupont still makes incredible luxury goods, ranging from lighters to leather goods, and from belts to cigar accessories. Take a look at the photos below for some examples of their contemporary goods.
